Where paying for a funeral yourselves may be difficult, there is financial assistance available from the Department of Work and Pensions if you are on qualifying benefits.
Below is a link to the Department of Work and Pensions website which will help you to determine if you think you would qualify from their financial assistance.
This process isn’t a short one. From application to payment being made is roughly 6-8 weeks in our experience.
It is important to note that Oxford Undertakers Ltd doesn’t have unlimited facilities in which to keep people with us until the Department of Work and Pensions pay towards our invoice so payment must still be made in full within 48 hours of being instructed.
